- State of Maine Career Center: Job Seekers Page The statewide system of Maine Career Centers help workers to find job training and jobs. They also post information about health care resources and other benefits for laid-off workers.
- Transitions: A Resource Guide to Restarting Career and Community The Maine Dept. of Labor and Maine CareerCenters offer this comprehensive guide for laid off workers. Contains extensive information about job training programs, financial supports, self-employment resources, etc.
- If You Lose Your Job Explains your rights as a recently-employed worker, including full pay, reasons for termination, personnel file, pension, continuing health care coverage under COBRA, and unemployment benefits.
- Special Programs For Laid-off Workers Overview of support and training programs for workers laid off due to foreign trade or a natural disaster. The Dept. of Labor also offers financial help to people who are retraining or starting their own business, and to some ex-military and former Federal employees.
