Affordable Care Act Fraud Prevention and Enforcement Efforts

Elimination of fraud, waste and abuse is a top priority of the current administration. The Health Care Fraud Prevention & Enforcement Action Team (HEAT), created in 2009 is working to prevent fraud, waste and abuse in the Medicare and Medicaid programs, while saving American taxpayers billions of dollars. These efforts to reduce fraud will continue to improve with the new tools and resources provided by the Affordable Care Act.
